About Vi Agroforestry
Vi Agroforestry is a Swedish non-profit foundation established in 1983. We work with local partner organisations in East Africa, mainly in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda to empower smallholders’ farmers and their organisations to improving their living conditions.
Vi Agroforestry has 39 years of experience in promoting agroforestry, sustainable agriculture, human rights-based approaches, gender equality, and empowerment of women, men, youth, and children.
Vi Agroforestry works in partnership with farmer organisations, government agencies, and other civil society organisations to promote sustainable food production, a safe environment, and human rights-based approaches that benefit women, men, young people, and children.

Country Manager Tanzania

We are seeking a Country Manager to oversee operations at their Kenya Country office. The role encompasses program implementation, financial management, staff leadership, resource mobilization, and communication.
The Country Manager will represent Vi Agroforestry in Kenya and report to the Regional Director. Essential qualifications include a relevant university-level education, at least 7 years of leadership experience, proficiency in English (and Kiswahili for Kenya and Tanzania), strategic thinking, accountability, excellent communication, and collaborative skills.
The successful candidate will contribute to Vi Agroforestry’s mission, values, and commitment to sustainable development.

Resource Mobilization and Communication Officer
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Resource Mobilization and Communication Officer to join our team in Tanzania.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for driving resource mobilization efforts and enhancing our organization’s visibility. Your primary focus will be on securing funding from major donors and building strong relationships with strategic partners. By effectively coordinating the resource mobilization process, guiding proposal writing, and promoting our organization’s mission, you will play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable agricultural land management practices and empowering smallholder farmer families.
To excel in this position, you should have a deep understanding of grant management and compliance issues, along with experience working with prominent donors such as the EU, USAID, and Embassies. Strong communication skills and knowledge of branding and visibility strategies are essential for success. Additionally, your ability to navigate donor requirements and report project results will contribute to our continued growth and impact.
