PURPOSE OF POSITION/ROLE
The Business Development Manager – Agrochemicals and Seeds is a key position responsible for business development strategy and operations of agrochemicals and seeds for Kenya.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business and sales – Ü Leading the Agrochemicals and seeds business
ü Responsible of setting the financial budget and to achieve the sales target Ü Prepare the business plan with route-to market and market access channels
ù Lead and support the field team to insure reaching targets
ü Prepare the go-to-market marketing plans to support achieving business targets
ü Collaborate for sourcing products with Head Portfolio
- Development of procurement
ü Portfolio: Leading the development strategy of Crop protection and seeds product portfolio to ensure a full portfolio that will address key market segments ü Seek and develop innovative portfolio to seize opportunities and/or address farmers issues
ü Develop and maintain up-to-date market intelligence and strategic business insights
ü Regulatory: lead and follow up the registration process and collaborate with all the relevant stakeholders
Ü Prepare and lead the launch go-to-market plans including field days, demo trials to achieve successful launch and strong base for growth
- Team leadership
Ü Lead, coach, and mentor Field Sales Representatives to meet or exceed crop protection and seeds portfolio sales goals and drive supporting behaviors with go-to-market plans

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualification: B.SC agriculture Experience: over 10 years of working experience post qualification in the crop protection and/or seeds company. Prior experience of working in Kenya. Business experiences in export crops with key accounts and seed business are desirable.
Proven track record of sales development and market growth
Good experience in preparing business plans, market analysis and communicating with key stakeholders
Good communication and presentation skills skill and able to speak in English, and local languages.
Enthusiastic and driven individual with an entrepreneurial spirit
•Able to work effectively in diverse team environment
• Willing to travel within and outside the region
